My name is Isabelle Chambers. I am French and moved to San Diego 25 years ago. I started working for my cousin in his French pastry cafe in Del Mar. Working in my cousin’s bakery was a real pleasure! My job was to make people happy with a simple sweet pastry. I loved it!
Fast-forward a few years, and my husband and I opened our own bakery in Encinitas 12 years ago. Over the years, among croissants, chocolate croissants and Napoleons —just to mention a few— we added our creations of gluten-free Almondine and our chocolate mousse specialty.
Only then I realized that crêpes were missing in our French menu!
My grandparents, Louis and Elise Briens, were from Bretagne (Brittany) where crêpes are part of the traditional meal. We started to make crêpes at our cafe and soon enough we got requests to cater and bring our equipment to events. Home, office, parks and for many different events like: baby or bridal shower, business meetings, Holidays party, staff appreciation, school, birthdays, street party in local neighborhoods.
